The mayors of the twin cities of Ness Ziona: Grand Quay, Qingdao, Solingen and Freiburg sent Mayor Shmuel Boxer messages of reinforcement and said: We are with you.
With the outbreak of the 'Iron Swords' war, messages of support and identification with the State of Israel and the city of Nes Ziona, from the heads of the twin cities, began to be received.
Mr. Tim Kurzbach, the mayor of the city of Solingen, Germany, organized a broad and moving demonstration of support for the State of Israel and ordered an information system to be held in schools in Solingen against the background of the terrorist attack against the residents of Israel by Hamas. Kurtzbach told us that he wants to ensure the education of a generation that will grow up to be empathetic and supportive of Israel.
The mayor of Grand Quay in France, Nicolas Rolly, sent us an emotional post of support that he uploaded on his Facebook and wrote: I present to you our demonstration of solidarity. We hope and pray for the safety of the residents of Nes Ziona. I condemn without reservation the act of terrorism that blindly killed civilians. The connection with our twin city will be maintained. The residents of the city of Grand Quay stand by the residents of Nes Ziona and send their hope for peace.
The mayor of Freiburg, Germany, Sven Kruger, issued a statement already on Saturday, October 7, 2023, and wrote: Hamas invaded Israel tonight. Also in our twin city, rockets destroyed houses. My thoughts are with my friends in Israel. The Israeli flag was hung on the Freiburg city hall as a sign of solidarity and identification with the Jewish people and the residents of Ness Ziona.
Qingdao, our twin city in China, also wanted to demand the safety of the residents of Nes Ziona and to convey to the residents their concern for their safety.
Mayor Shmuel Boxer: The courageous relationship with our twin cities, which has been maintained over the years - is especially moving and strengthening these days, when concern, care and the demonstration of support and solidarity are more important than ever. It is encouraging and strengthening to know that we have true friends overseas. May they continue together with us to stand up for Israel's right to keep and protect its citizens.
Samdar Aharoni, the mayor's deputy and advisor, who is also in charge of the foreign relations portfolio: "In these difficult days that the people of Israel are going through, it is exciting to receive such public support, without reservation, from the heads of the world's twin cities. Their support is no small thing. Against the background of the denial of the terrorist attack and pro-Palestinian support, this is proof that the alliance with them created true friendships in times of joy and in times of crisis.
Thank you for the support from our city's twin cities
